Connectivity & setup guide
Broadband installation CD
1. Close down any programs that are running. As a precaution, backup any important files before you start the installation process.
2. If you have a USB to Ethernet converter please do not plug it into the computer until the on-screen installation instructions ask you to do so.
3. Insert the Homechoice CD into your computer's CD drive. If the CD does not load automatically, browse to the CD-ROM drive and double click on it. In the window that opens, double click on the Homechoice icon.
4. The Welcome Screen will then appear. At any time during the installation you can click on the Frequently Asked Questions button for further information.

5. The installer will auto detect any Ethernet ports and prompt you to install the USB adapter, if required. Follow the on-screen instructions to install and setup the USB to Ethernet adapter.

6. After the installation program has connected you to the internet, it will open the Homechoice broadband registration page. If you have registered before you will be notified of this.
7. To register as a Homechoice broadband user, you will need to provide your Account ID and password, which is contained in the Welcome Letter we sent to you.
8. Your main Homechoice email address will look like this: username@homechoice.co.uk. You choose the 'username' part - a nickname perhaps, which can be any name you would like (providing that it hasn't already been chosen by another Homechoice user). For example John Smith might pick bigjohn@ homechoice.co.uk (subject to availability).

9. You will be prompted to setup your personal webspace, which will be at www.your_domain.homechoice.co.uk. You choose the 'your_domain' part, which can be anything you would like that is not already in use. For example John Smith might pick www.bigjohn. homechoice.co.uk (subject to availability).

10. You are now asked to confirm your email and webspace addresses. If at this time you decide to change either of them, select 'change your details' and you will be taken to the start of the "account setup process". You will now be able to enter alternative email and webspace addresses.
You are now all set to browse the web and send and receive email. Click on the Microsoft Internet Explorer icon to get hooked up to the net, or the Microsoft Outlook Express icon to send and receive emails.
If you experience any difficulty using the Homechoice Broadband Service call the Customer Care team on 0845 678 3333. Lines are open between 8am-8pm, Monday to Saturday.
If you wish other members of your household to have an email account, login to the account management system on the Existing Customer section of our website (homechoice.co.uk) and simply create them an account with its own unique username and password.
